About

Greengrower is New Zealand's first large-scale vertical farm, supplying Matakana Village Farmers' Market with fresh, sustainably grown leafy greens, herbs, and microgreens year-round, using cutting-edge technology.

Their Story

Greengrower was founded in 2017 by Tom Schuyt and his father, Peter Schuyt. Tom identified a need to supplement traditional growers facing challenges in supplying the New Zealand market with enough fresh produce throughout the year. Their vision was to establish a high-tech, sustainable operation…

What They Make

Greengrower focuses on cultivating a variety of leafy greens, herbs, and microgreens. The current product range includes lettuce, kale, rocket, and various herbs and microgreens. There are future plans to expand into growing peas and beans, and to produce items typically not grown in New Zealand's climate.
