Yvette Brooks (striking red hair since 13) & husband Chris. Lived 16 years in the States. Inspired by San Diego trip with nieces - found Mexican restaurant that sparked epiphany 'This is what food should be like'. Named in honor of niece Danielle who passed at 24-26 from cancer - her words: 'Do What You Love'. RED (Yvette's hair), HOT (salsa), KIWI (NZ made), COMPANY (husband Chris). Traditional Molcajete (mortar & pestle) style. Kitchen Project graduate. Grow own Devils Tongue Chillies for 'Lil Devil' hot sauce with peach. Started at Oratia & Te Atatu markets, Melissa (kombucha maker) encouraged move to Grey Lynn. Mexican girl cried because salsa tasted like her mum's.
